Bye bye Nessie, it's back to Oban we go
20 May
Sadly Mom and I are both sick now and our combined coughing kept us both awake so for our trip back to Oban I begged for my own room again so that we can both try to get some sleep. So we were actually both up early and decided to head out of the Loch Ness region and back to Oban where we will have 3 nights and 2 full days.
For our return trip back along the same way we came we decided to take a detour and drive through the Glencoe strip, a region we had definitely visited 40 years ago held an eerie rememberance for me. This area too has been made famous in the bond movie Skye Fall. Though we didn't do the Skye Fall route this drive simply takes your breath away. An area formed by ancient volcanic activity and marred for it's clan warfare, has now been preserved as a nature belt and it's popularity was clear by the countless tourists we encountered. We even saw a couple doing their wedding photos.
The then pushed through to Oban to book our Ferry tickets for tomorrow morning, pay another visit to the pharmacy, and then head for our guest house where we have gratefully been accommodated in separate rooms. It is still early but I am certainly going to make use of every minute to have an early night.
