It's all part of the adventure

On the eve of my Canadian visa appointment, I have come through to Pretoria for the night so that I can be here bright and early for the appointment tomorrow.  I'm staying at Waterkloof Apartments and it's a lovely bachelor's apartment setup and very comfy for my night away from home.  I came through a bit earlier to see my aunt and uncle and it was great to catch up with them. We spent a bit of time reminiscing about my late father and how much I looked like him when I was younger.  We also remembered his hysterically naughty antics. My aunt told me about his mischief when she was working at the bank with my mom in her early years.  Family time is always so special and I'm glad that I could use this excuse to spend some time together.  I know this adventure we are planning as a family will still bring forth many opportunities for connection and fun.

Te jonk om te teken

With our family Europe tour that we did when I was young, I distinctly remember the irritation I felt when my 10 year old self received her first passport only to find a sticker in it reading, 'te jonk on the teken', meaning, too young to sign.  Well this time round....I have a self signed passport to the excitement of my next adventure, which takes its next steps next Monday, when I go to the Canadian Visa Centre in Pretoria to have my finger prints taken.  I have managed to organize a place to sleep the night before a mere 700m from the venue.  Quite chuffed.  I'll spend the evening with my aunt and uncle first though and then head on over, all so that I can manage to be there bright eyed and bushy tailed at 8:15 sharp. The excitement is tangible.  At least I am gaining the necessary experience to give my mom and sister a heads up on the process, for when we have to do our UK Visa's early next year.  Visatime, have been really great at walking me through ...
