Scan me
This week has gone by very fast. Starting off though was the adventure to the Pretoria Visa Centre. I had been told it would be quick and so it was. I noted with a fair amount of amusement how various state bodies are implementing a ticket system and that really has helped matters.
So starting at the gates they ushered us into different groups. One lady said I needed to wait, so was once again amused when I went to another que and was told, go straight in for Canada.
I made my way upstairs, through the security check point and then onto another counter where my appointment documents were scanned and I was issued my ticket. Then through more security doors and then a seated que. I waited about 10-15 minutes before it was my turn at the check in desk and then finally onto the room to be photographed and scanned.
All in, done in less than 30 minutes, so I was very happy with that and was then able to head off the work.
A lot of big improvements in technology being used made for a pleasant experience. Now just the wait until I get called to bring my passport in for stamping.
I had asked my Mom how we had managed to travel through Europe and what the requirements were back then only to learn that there were no Visa's used back then. I was really surprised to learn that. How our world has changed in the last 40 years.
The wait has begun!
