Robben Island

Robben Island was a real eye opener for me.  Coming face to face with the reality that so many people were jailed simply for their political ideology or color of their skin was was difficult to accept. I am glad that my generation played a leading role in changing all that.

What struck me most was the true humility and grace of a man who chose to forgive and to serve his people, thereby taking up his place as our greatest leader, yes none other that Nelson Mandela.

We could all learn from his selfless grace and I hope that one day a new generation will live out the true values of equality that he faught so hard to achieve.
